“Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord drove the sea back by a strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. And the people of Israel went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.” -Exodus 14:21-22 (ESV)
A word of encouragement for today – Know that Jesus loves you, he cares about you, he is with you, and he has a plan for your life!
Put yourself in the shoes of someone just liberated from generations of captivity – someone on a journey to a promised land of goodness, peace and rest. Now imagine that journey takes you right to the edge of a sea. By the way, the enemy is fast approaching from the rear, catches up, blocks your exits and wants nothing else but to destroy you. What happened? Did God lose his way? Did he abandon you?
Proverbs 3:5 (ESV) says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” When you put your faith and trust in the Lord (and not in people!), something miraculous begins to happen – this proverb continues and says that, “He will make straight your paths.” What may appear to be a tangled mess in your life ends up being an opportunity to see God at work – His love manifested in the establishment of the way before you and a clear path and direction that leads to God being glorified in you!
Stay faithful and true to the Lord and lean on his promise to be “with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)
